Important information: Always take your time when hiking if an accident should occur help could be hours away. When you are hiking into a waterfall you should at minimum bring the suggested items below, better to be prepared for things than not prepared. Most of all ENJOY the Upper Peninsula waterfalls.
Things to consider bringing: camera, waterproof hiking boots/rubber boots, rain poncho/coat, headlamp/flashlight (if close to dark), bug spray(during bug season), rope/paracord, small first aid kit, whistle, small pack or waist pack, a friend, a dog.
Silver Creek Falls information: These falls are just off of 5mile point road which runs from Ahmeek to Eagle River. You will park right after the guard rail crosses the Silver Creek if you are coming from Ahmeek along 5 mile point road. If you are coming in from Eagle River the falls will be on your left and you will park before the guard rail on the left. The trail to the falls starts just off of where you park. Follow this trail, it is well traveled. If you happen to get off the trail follow the river up until you reach the falls. The rock is volcanic conglomerate rock. Once you get to the river you will need to cross to get up and close to the falls. You can get a different vantage point on the left side but it is slippery and a little more steep. When the water is low you can cross the river easily, I recommend waterproof hiking boots, watershoes, or rubber boots if you don't want to get your feet wet.
Will be adding more waterfall videos regularly so keep checking back, you also need to stop by our Upper Peninsula Waterfalls facebook page where we post some also. If you love the Upper Peninsula be sure to check out FunintheUP.com as well.COMING SOON: Waterfalls by county
